A Temperature Controller is a device that measures and regulates temperature. It compares the temperature by a sensor to a set point, and then adjusts the temperature to match the point.
- A temperature sensor, such as a thermocouple, resistance thermometer, or temperature transmitter, provides input to the temperature controller
- The controller calculates the difference between the measured temperature and the set point
- The controller sends an output to a control element, such as a heater or fan, to adjust the temperature
